Write posts so they’re friendly to both search bots and human readers

When you run the same query on different search engines, you will probably get different results. This is because every search engine uses its own algorithm, based on various socalled “ranking factors.” These factors decide which results appear in the SERPs. Acquiring new and relevant links can be tricky, but it can be one of your most important SEO goals. Earning those premium links takes a lot of work and it’s worth it. With all the signals in the Google algorithm – and there are hundreds of them – why would links still be so valuable as a signal? A general rule of thumb: If you have links in a menu at the top of the page, avoid duplicating those same links on the bottom of every page. Linking to the same page in the footer creates a hole for the link juice to seep out. SEO, that is ethical and organic, takes serious time. Anyone that claims otherwise is just looking to take your money and run.

Anchor text is still a huge ranking signal

Building links is certainly an essential SEO practice, but Google is still dealing with the manipulation of SERPs via economically minded marketers. However, your link building strategy needs to encompass relevancy. A big part of effectively writing for Internet users and search engines alike is to understand the human user's psyche while also feeding the search engines the relevancy they need to consider ranking the page for a given topic. If your site has a blog with public commenting turned on, links within those comments could pass your reputation to pages that you may not be comfortable vouching for. The degree to which search engines rely on evaluating link neighborhoods is not clear, and links from nonrelevant pages are still believed to help the rankings of the target pages. Does the content add an enormous amount of value or is it thin and veiled in an attempt to merely rank for a keyword? Is the content unique? You can't skimp on quality. Not today.

High advertisement ratio

. If your site has thousands or even millions of pages, hand-crafting description meta tags probably isn't feasible. In this case, you could automatically generate description meta tags based on each page's content. A number of challenges have to be successfully passed in order to create a successful multilingual site that ranks well with Google. To be a part of the party, make sure your business website uses structured data markup. What is SEO? If you want to use your SEO campaign to truly and accurately speak to your audience and potential buyers, think about what gaps you can fill that competitors don’t. People really love to check their search rankings. Many companies want to use this as a measurement of SEO progress over time, but it is a bit problematic, for a variety of reasons.

Measuring Content Quality and User Engagement

We asked an SEO Specialist, Gaz Hall, for his thoughts on the matter: "Focus on your customers, and take the right logistical steps to make sure that search engines can find your content. Focus on the ‘road less traveled’ with long-tail opportunities, and you’ll be set." Utilizing Social Media is a first step for many webmasters with nothing to offer, which is a reason why their young websites fail. Hitting up Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other gathering places on the Internet is something you should wait to do, at least until your website has enough meat to make a good first impression. You only get one. When a search engine crawls your site, it moves slowly from one page to another by following the links on the page. As it does, it collects data about the content of your page. Organizing your website into various sections, each with their own unique focus, will help visitors to find the content they’re seeking, as well as similar content they might also enjoy perusing. Integrate selected keywords into your website source code and existing content on designated pages.

Focus on ‘Things’, Not ‘Strings’

Your website URL should generally be related to/contain your keywords. The domain name keywords are a very important ranking signal for Google, so take advantage of it if you can. *Note that this ranking factor has been made less powerful over the past couple of years, specifically for EMDs (exact match domains where only exact keywords are in the domain name). There have been a number of debates over the years about the SEO value of having keywords in your domain URL. CRO is a process that utilizes user feedback, market research, and analytics to improve the conversion rate on your website. If the goal of your website is to get visitors to fill out a contact form, the conversion rate would be the number of people who filled out the form divided by the total traffic your website received. Optimizing images to rank well in search is a must for an increasingly visual web: a good logo or some eye-catching graphics can be as effective at attracting visitors to your website as your written content. Having a mobile friendly website is an absolute must the last couple of years. Google introduced mobile friendliness as a ranking signal in April 2015 and since then everything on the Web is about mobile.

Words and phrases that keep people engaged

Vertical search is the term people sometimes use for specialty or niche search engines that focus on a limited data set. Examples of vertical search solutions provided by the major search engines are image, video, news, and blog searches. Personalization is one of the most talked about frontiers in search. Realize that meta keywords are only used by your competitor to see what you want to rank for. Google still doesn’t use them. Sometimes the best way to get links is not to ask for them. That doesn't mean you should sit back, do nothing and wait for links to appear. Spend time creating content and making your site as attractive and easy to link to as possible. Search engines typically prioritize site titles, page titles, blog post titles, and headings. These titles also appear in browser tabs and search results, so it's important to write them so they’re friendly to both search bots and human readers.

Establish the credibility of your business in Google’s eyes

Every business needs a marketing strategy and so does a website. The best strategy to market any website is through SEO management. SEO is technical, complicated, time-consuming and potentially dangerous. Ranking potential is an assessment of where you can realistically hope to get your rankings to; if the top 5 websites have a DA of 90+ and your website is at 20, it is not realistic to think that you will be able to grab one of the top 5 spots in no time. Again this is not always the case, but tends to generally be a safe standard of procedure. The increasing dominance of visual content online has brought with it new opportunities for increasing a site’s search traffic by optimizing videos and images. Work with Google to provide your users with the most relevant, well-informed and entertaining answers to their questions. Prove that you are trustworthy by connecting as closely as possible to high authority sites.

Panda 4.2 as core ranking algorithm

There’s no need to spend more time on the optimisation if your content is not appealing enough for your audience. Paid links are like paying someone to be your wingman to impress a girl rather than having a genuine friend by your side who can vouch for how great you really are! Instead of writing on-page copy for the sole purpose of repeating a keyword multiple times, you should write about your product or service or idea naturally, and let your keyword variations naturally fall into place. If that doesn’t happen, go back and spring in some variations into the content so that the same message gets across, just optimized! Over the past few years, one of the most common phrases in SEO has been content is king. Quality content that is original, well written and relevant is integral for any website and business or company. Standard results, however, are certainly not all that the search engines have to offer. For many types of queries, search engines show vertical results, or instant answers, and include more than just links to other sites to help answer a user’s questions

Are you using Shared web hosting?

when writing for the internet, break up your paragraphs as often as possible. Lots of white space makes reading text on mobile phones a heck of a lot easier (more than half of most websites’ traffic comes from mobile), and clearly formatted articles are used as a Google ranking signal. SEO, once a highly specialized task relegated to the back rooms of a website development team, is now a mainstream marketing activity. The intro of the article should be short, focused, and to the point. This will help the reader prepare for what they are going to learn from reading the article. Are you looking for SEO Advice? Panda and Penguin are algorithm updates by Google, focused on serving more quality websites in their search result pages. Panda focuses on thin content and banners, among other things, where Penguin checks if the links to your website are natural links that make sense. According to Google, natural links leading back to your site are definitely something to strive for.

Competitive keywords

Gaz Hall, a Freelance SEO Consultant, commented: "Once you create your blog, stick to the same domain for as long as you continue to publish. You could end up losing a lot of your organic traffic, your readers and all your search engine listings if you decide to move or change your domain and URLs." A better average time on your website leads to a lower bounce rate and a greater user experience. Make the navigation through your website as smooth as possible. If you read something interesting on a blog, you should comment. Especially when a post is about something you may have written about yourself as well. In your comment, you can share your view on the matter. You could also place a link to one of your own blogs. One of the problems international businesses continuously need to address is identifying themselves as “local” in the eyes of the search engines. You have complete control over anchor text on your own website, and you should use it to your advantage. But you don’t really have control over what text people use on other websites.

Education is the best legacy

Directory Submission is important to Search Engine Optimization, especially for younger websites that don’t have links built all over the Internet already. It is an easy and free part of the Search Engine Optimization process which many novice webmasters ignore. If you want your website to succeed, don’t forget those directories. If you have two domain versions of your website, i.ewww.example.comand and both www and non-www URLs are serving the same content (i.e the same homepage), then you might face problems regarding the duplicity of data. To avoid such situations, you must first choose the preferred domain (canonical), which is to be seen and then 301 redirects all the other non-canonical to the preferred domain. Give the search engines some time to do their thing (a couple days, or even weeks) and then keep checking your rank to see what happened and track your progress. Every search engine has a program known as a “bot” or “crawler”. These programs follow links and visit websites. As they do so, they index website content and follow the links on the website to other sites. If your website has not yet been indexed, it will not appear in search results. Whenever doing a website redesign, I think it’s so important to reassess the purpose of each page. If you don’t learn anything from the page, neither will your viewers! Building out a navigation map that takes SEO into consideration will save you a lot of heartache throughout your project!

Create Better Content

For brands that can’t afford a full-service SEO agency, the mention of the word “link building” is enough to make them flinch. Google will show less information in the search results on mobile than on a desktop. Your meta descriptions and your titles will be truncated if you made them too long. Thinks about that when you optimize your posts and pages. Google is looking for authoritative sites that are actual businesses that are getting legitimate visitors to their site. Google wants to see a healthy link profile that signifies authority. This means quality links coming from quality content across the web with a healthy diversity. Inbound links pointing from other websites to your website are critical to establish the credibility of your business in Google’s eyes.
